Founded in 2025 in the village of Sneem, County Kerry, our company was built on a simple but powerful idea: to give new life to locally sourced sheep wool and transform it into something that benefits the soil, farmers, and the environment.
Surrounded by the mountains of Kerry and West Cork, we recognised an opportunity to turn a natural by-product of Irish sheep farming into a sustainable solution for growing healthy plants and building living soil.
By combining traditional agricultural knowledge with modern processing, we produce organic sheep wool fertiliser pellets that work in harmony with nature.
Our fertiliser pellets are made entirely from natural sheep wool, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly way to nourish soil.
Produced in County Kerry using locally sourced sheep wool, supporting sustainable agriculture and reducing waste.
Trusted by 500+ clients for reliable fertiliser products
Sneem Organic Wools was founded by Jiri Kohler and Kieran Burns, who together bring complementary skills and a shared commitment to sustainability.
Kieran is a fourth-generation wool merchant, continuing a long family tradition rooted in the wool trade and Irish agriculture. Jiri contributes hands-on expertise in machinery and processing, helping turn raw wool into an effective and practical soil product.
Together, they share a vision of creating products that are both environmentally responsible and practically useful for growers, gardeners, and farmers.
All of our products are manufactured locally in Sneem, supporting rural employment and ensuring the value of Irish wool remains within the community.
What might once have been considered waste wool is now transformed into a long-lasting organic fertiliser that improves soil structure, helps retain moisture, and supports healthy plant growth.
Our wool pellets are designed to work naturally within organic and ecological growing systems, providing slow-release nutrients while improving the overall health of the soil.
At Sneem Organic Wools, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
By transforming locally sourced sheep wool into a practical soil product, we help reduce agricultural waste while supporting farmers and promoting healthier soil management.
Our goal is to provide a natural fertiliser that gardeners and growers can rely on — simple, effective, and rooted in the traditions of Irish agriculture.
Discover how natural wool fertiliser can improve soil health, support stronger plant growth, and provide long-lasting nutrition for your garden or growing project.
Sheep wool contains naturally occurring nutrients that plants need to grow, including nitrogen and trace minerals. When processed into pellets and mixed into soil, the fibres slowly break down and release these nutrients over time.
At the same time, the natural structure of wool fibres helps improve soil aeration and moisture retention, creating better conditions for plant roots and beneficial soil organisms.
This makes wool pellets an effective natural fertiliser and soil improver suitable for gardens, farms, landscaping projects, and organic growing systems.
